Teide National Park

Teide National Park is located in the geographic heart of the island, at 2,000 metres (6,500 ft) above sea level and topped by Spain's highest peak at 3,718 metres (12,198 ft). In addition to its outstanding natural beauty, it is also the most visited national park in Europe, welcoming around three million visitors every year.

Drago Park

Next to the parish church of San Marcos. Drago Park is the top attraction in Icod de los Vinos. The famous and ancient dragon tree in the park is over 800 years old and is one of the most prominent natural, cultural and historical symbols in the Canary Islands. The Icod dragon tree is considered the oldest of its kind on the islands, and is more than 16 metres tall with a diameter at its base of around 20 metres.

In Santiago del Teide, the name "Los Gigantes" refers to the towering cliffs that reach a height of 600 meters (1,970 feet) before dramatically descending into the sea, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Traditional Festivals

Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival

Well known as one of the most lively carnivals in the world, this colourful event is held in February. Parades, troupes and extravagant costumes are all essential ingredients in this popular festival.

El Carmen Festival

The festival which honours the Virgen del Carmen, the patron saint of sailors, takes place in Puerto Colón and other ports in the region in July. The festival features a number of beautiful maritime processions.

Easter

Easter is an important time for religious processions and ceremonies in all the different towns and villages in the south of Tenerife. The processions in Adeje and La Laguna are among the most popular.
